Heber is experiencing rapid growth, bringing with it both promising opportunities and big challenges. I’m committed to helping our community navigate this new phase. I plan to focus my efforts on the following priorities:

Improve
Communication/
Collaboration
I will regularly seek to obtain valuable feedback from residents and will work to improve communication and collaboration between the city council, mayor, city staff, county, and other entities.
Please reach out and share the issues that are most important to you and your family and any suggested solutions at morgan@morganmurdock.com.

Address Traffic on
Main Street/U.S. 40
The City Council and the Wasatch County Council must continue to diligently collaborate with UDOT to identify and implement the most effective solutions for Main Street/U.S. 40 traffic congestion.

Preserve Open Space
Heber’s access to the outdoors is part of what makes it such a desirable place.Having places to rest, play, and enjoy time in nature can foster a more vibrant and healthy life. I will work to preserve our open spaces and revitalize and expand parks and trails.

Enhance Main Street
and Central Heber
Central Heber is the heart of our community. I support the proposed plan to create a walkable, bikeable central city with increased living and working opportunities in the downtown area. I believe Main Street can become a more welcoming environment with a sense of history where more residents and visitors can enjoy walking, shopping, dining, and recreation.
I will ensure that the City Council continues to work closely with the Community Alliance for Main Street (CAMS) and downtown businesses to further enhance and strengthen Main Street and Central Heber.

Expand Housing Options
The City Council needs to continue to identify creative solutions to housing needs so that essential workers, city and county employees, seniors, and even our own children and grandchildren can afford to live and thrive in the community they love and serve.
I will work diligently to ensure effective communication and collaboration between the Heber City Council and the Wasatch County Housing Authority.

Promote Safety
I’m committed to fully supporting the Heber City Police Department as they maintain law and order, protect life and property, and preserve public peace. Improving pedestrian safety is a priority — I support regular maintenance of sidewalks, strategic investment in new pathways, and the addition of more highly visible crosswalks.
